MDOT Report
By Tommy Booth, Director, MDOT Aeronautics

FY2019 Airport Multimodal Program: At this time, the airport multimodal program has been put on hold until further notice. We anticipate providing an update before the end of March.

Passenger Enplanements: Each month, the seven commercial service airports report the passenger boardings to our office on a monthly basis. For CY2017, they reported a total of 874,226 passenger enplanements. This is slightly less than the 879,310 reported to us in CY2016, a drop of 0.58%. The Tupelo Regional Airport showed the largest increase at 66.73%, while Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International had a decrease of 7.32%.

Aeronautics Administrative Assistant: Many of you who have contacted our office have been greeted by April McFarland. April has decided to make a move and will be transferring to MDOT’s Contract Administration Division at the end of February. I have received so many comments on how pleasant and professional she is when she answers the phone. She has been such a joy to work with, and we are going to miss her around the office. We wish her nothing but the best! I have already advertised the position, so hopefully I will be able to announce her successor in the next issue.
