Greetings MAA members,

Whew, will 2020 ever end!! We go from pandemic to super hornets to riots all in rapid succession, and we’re only halfway through the year! Yes, it has been an eventful year thus far and a lot of adjustments have had to be made to keep our airports and the country moving, but I am grateful to God and more focused than ever on the blessings I do have. I am sure that each of you can say the same.

COVID-19 has had a significant impact in the Mississippi Delta, and Greenville has not been spared. We are weathering the storm, and I am beginning to see breaks in the clouds. Passenger numbers with our EAS provider, Boutique Air, are beginning to climb, and GA aircraft are returning to grace our apron. We are still working with partners to bring new business and industry to the airport, and we still have several improvement projects either in progress or about to begin. It has been somewhat dark these past few weeks, but I sense a brightening of the clouds.

Thank you to all of our board members who participated in our first Zoom video conference recently. It was functional, but it doesn’t hold a candle to seeing each of you in person. I am optimistic that we will be able to actually meet together the next time around. Keep your heads up, and remember that Bob Marley once sang, “Get up, stand up; don’t give up the fight!!” Until next time, “Blue Skies and Tail Winds!”
