PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Greetings MAA Members,

As we spotlighted airports during Aviation Month in May – officially proclaimed by our Legislature since 2011 – it illuminated how vital aviation is to Mississippi’s intermodal transportation network and our statewide economy. As of writing this, a final state budget has not been approved. We are still unsure of the amount appropriated to Strategic Multi-Modal, but at MAA Capitol Day earlier in the year, it was clear the legislators we spoke to understand its importance. I feel it will get funded appropriately.

We are busy working on finalizing the agenda for our annual conference, being held this year in Hattiesburg, September 17-19. It is shaping up to be a good mix of topics, and I encourage you come! You can register now on our WEBSITE.
