If You Build Them, They Will Come: New Hangars at Olive Branch

By David Taylor, Jr., Aviation Director
Olive Branch Airport – Taylor Field

Hangars and hangar space are a hot commodity, and the opportunity to build your own seems to be a rarity. Thanks to a grant from the Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration and support from Olive Branch City officials, a new city-owned corporate hangar is under construction, which will be the third corporate hangar belonging to the Olive Branch Airport. All spaces in the new hangar have been reserved ahead of its completion.

In addition to this build, the city is allowing ground leases for private hangar builds. A private corporate hangar is currently under construction, the second of its kind at the airport, bringing the total number of new hangars either under construction or completed to seven in the last 24 months.

More hangars are being discussed by both city officials and private individuals for future builds. Several mid-south area businesses have expressed interest in relocating to the airport for the opportunity to build their own hangars as well.
