FAA 5010 Airport Inspections: It’s that time of the year again when we begin our inspection cycle. We are scheduled to inspect 69 airports this year. Each year, we begin in the northern part of the state and work our way southward. David Lowery will be contacting you in advance to schedule a time to make his visit. The based aircraft numbers are an important part of the inspection. Please have that information available so that we can update the based aircraft database.
FY2019 Airport Multimodal Program: We have developed the schedule for next year’s multimodal cycle. Application information will be available on the MDOT website on March 1, 2018, with application packets being due on March 30, 2018. The online process will be the same as last year. The only minor change to the application form is that the dollar amounts will be rounded off to the nearest dollar. Around March 1, we will mail letters to the airport sponsors announcing that the application cycle is open. We will also notify all airport consultants via email that the application cycle has begun.
Project Submittals: Thank you to those who have provided electronic copies of project plans and specifications. For those who have not done so, please email those documents to me or use or the MDOT ProjectWise application to transfer the documents.
Happy Holidays! The MDOT Aeronautics Division would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We hope that you and your family have a wonderful time together and have safe travels this holiday season.
