PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Happy Spring, Y’all!!!!

Good flying weather ahead and another great newsletter to read. I hope everyone enjoys these articles, and be sure to thank Ms. Kirsten Shaw when you see her for putting together a top-notch publication!

We have been busy since our last newsletter. Thanks to Clay Williams and his team, we held our first Aviation Day at the Capitol, and it was a big success. We still have a long way to go in our quest for an increase in multimodal funds – which reminds me, we are in the MDOT application stage this month for 2024!

The Association also joined the State Attorney General in her anti-trafficking program. I encourage each of you to look into how you can be “Part of the Solution.” This is a terrible crime against humanity, and we should do all we can to prevent it from occurring.

Finally, I will be sending out material again for our awareness program of Aviation Month in Mississippi. It will be in May, so watch your email and use this opportunity to push aviation in your local communities.

We are getting close to our annual conference in Meridian on September 13-15. Please make plans to attend and invite other aviation professionals.

Have a great spring, and keep ’em flying.

Sincerely,

Tom Heanue
President
Mississippi Airports Association
