The Delta Air Lines station located at Golden Triangle Regional (GTR) Airport has been named Delta Air Lines’ Station of the Month for exceptional performance.

“We have an outstanding staff here at GTR Airport,” says Station Manager Rhonda Dye. “They go above and beyond what their jobs require to make sure passengers’ needs are met.”

This is actually the fourth time in the past 12 months that the local station has been awarded this top honor for their region. Scoring is based on factors such as customer service, on time departures, safety and proper baggage management.

“They make us look good,” says GTR Airport Executive Director Matt Dowell. “So many times, these Delta agents are the face of the airport to the community. I couldn’t be prouder for them. They’re very deserving.”

Taking care of an average of 140 passengers a day is no small task for this crew of 11. Multitasking is the norm.

“This team checks passengers in, boards them, loads and unloads bags and cargo, assists people in wheelchairs and cleans the aircraft,” states Dye. “We’re a small group, so we have to do it all.”

Customer service is a strong focus of the Delta employees at GTR.

Station Supervisor Brittney Richardson shares, “Treating passengers with respect and giving them the best experience possible is very important to me.”

Richardson, who greets regular passengers by name, likes to go the extra mile in little things like having their boarding passes printed and waiting for them when time allows.

With the airport serving as the gateway to the Golden Triangle, the community is fortunate to have this crew of Delta employees representing the best of Southern hospitality to visitors and residents alike. It’s no surprise they have been recognized for their outstanding work.
