While exhibiting at the Midsouth Airshow in Tennessee, members of Delta State University’s Women in Aviation chapter also explored a variety of aircraft.

On June 18 and 19, the Magnolia Chapter of Women in Aviation International attended the Midsouth Airshow in Millington, TN, and shared a booth with Delta State University. The Midsouth Airshow was a great opportunity to reach out and talk about Women in Aviation to people from the surrounding area and even from across the country who attended. Chapter members also got to network and speak to representatives of the various organizations who were present. Some of the organizations brought their own aircraft, so on top of speaking with them, members got to experience some awesome aircraft in person. On top of that, both days were filled with stunning aerial displays, such as the Air Force’s F-22 demonstration team and the Navy’s elite Blue Angels.

WIA chapter members enjoyed an informative tour of FedEx’s tour in Memphis.

Also during the summer, the chapter was honored to be given the opportunity to tour the FedEx hub in Memphis, TN. This tour was extremely enlightening, not only providing more information about what they do but also being able to see how they do it first-hand. Our members were given a deeper understanding to the ins and outs of FedEx and its many different facilities. A few examples of this includes watching as the planes were loaded and unloaded, going in the air traffic control tower and seeing the FedEx dispatchers in action. Chapter members are grateful for the opportunity and look forward to what they will get to do in the future.
