Greenville Mid-Delta Airport Prepares for Runway Improvements

Airport Director, Greenville Mid-Delta Airport

The City of Greenville, MS, recently awarded a bid to Metro Construction of Tennessee to clean and seal cracks, as well as to clean and repaint markings, on Runway 18L/36R at the Greenville Mid-Delta Airport. The project is funded by a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program.

Airport Director Sam Washington notes, “This project will clean and seal various linear and lateral cracks in the runway service on our commercial runway. None of the cracks exceed the specifications for cracks in the surface, but this project will help to ensure that none of the cracks reach an excessive level and will help to extend the life of the runway pavement. We want to commend the FAA for funding this project, as well as our engineering firm, Michael Baker International, for developing the bid specifications and preparing the grant application.”

Work should begin on the project by the end of September 2022.
