Hello MAA Members,

Trent Lott International Airport hosted a retirement luncheon, at which several MAA members presented a resolution on behalf of the organization.

We did it, the Association put their foot and telephones down and had an outstanding “in-person” conference near the end of 2021 at the Golden Nugget Casino in Biloxi. It was led by our fearless leader, President Sam Washington, the Greenwood Mid-Delta Airport Director. Thank you, Sam, for your hard work and dedication during this pandemic. We applaud your exceptional leadership and prayers!

Sam passed his position to me at the final hour of the conference, and I became “President Snapp.” Words cannot describe my honor and gratitude to hold this title. Thank you! The bad news is that I recently discovered I’m not able to stay in Mississippi due to a family matter and will depart March 30 for Meridian, Idaho. I will miss all of you and wish you the very best.

The good news is that Tom Heanue, Executive Director of Hattiesburg-Laurel Regional Airport, will assume the position of MAA President. I first met Tom at the 2001 MAA Meeting in Hattiesburg. I consider him a very good friend and an aviation expert, and as the saying goes… you’re in very good hands!

While my term is short-lived, it’s a milestone I’ll always cherish.

Sincerely,

Carol Snapp
President
Mississippi Airports Association
