Aviation Month – Let’s Celebrate!

May is Aviation Month in Mississippi. You might be wondering how you can increase awareness of aviation in your community. Here are a few ideas:

• Host a business after hours event at your airport.
• Work with your local economic development director to craft a news release about the impact your airport has had on business and industry recruitment.
• Invite the Junior ROTC or other school group to tour your airport.
• Post interesting historical facts on your social media. A good source to use is HERE.
• Take a few minutes to write your state legislators thanking them for supporting aviation through the traditional and Strategic Multi-Modal funds. You can contact Kathy Kenne if you need additional information about these funds.
• Contact your community’s civic clubs and offer to be a speaker.
