Combat Readiness Exercise on GPT Campus

The Air National Guard hosted the Sentry South 26-2 exercise February 20 through March 6 at the Gulfport Combat Readiness Training Center located on Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport’s campus as well as at the Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center and other locations around the state. Approximately 1,100 service members from active, guard and reserve components of the U.S. military participated in this combat training exercise.

Sentry South 26-2 is a large force employment exercise focused on major combat operations and joint maritime opportunities in a contested or degraded operational environment. Sentry South 26-2 applies joint and combined war fighting doctrine against realistic and robust enemy integrated threat systems, all while under safe and controlled conditions.

The Air National Guard recently conducted a two-week combat training exercise at the Gulfport Combat Readiness Training Center located on Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport’s campus, as well as other locations around the state.
