PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dear MAA Members and Partners,

In May, as we prepared to enter the summer season, we celebrated Mississippi Aviation Month recognizing the state’s 80 airports, which generate more than $2.5 billion in economic impact and support more than 20,000 jobs. Throughout the month, airports worked to raise awareness of our facilities’ role in cargo, tourism, economic development and emergency response, celebrating the history of where we have been as an industry and where we are today. Not only during Aviation Month, but throughout the year, the Mississippi Airports Association stands as a unified voice advocating for issues and positions to benefit and grow aviation in our state.

In this issue of the MAA Flyer, we profile infrastructure expansion and enhancement at airports around Mississippi; highlight career development achievements of graduates of our state’s only four-year aviation program; mark the homecoming of Vietnam Veteran Honor Flights honoring those who served our country with dedication and distinction and spotlight other good news.

As a reminder, the upcoming Mississippi Airports Association Annual Conference is a great place to network with all involved in aviation in Mississippi. The MAA board works diligently each year to create meaningful events that add significant value for our members. The conference provides a medium to promote our industry and for discussion of best practices while promoting relevant legislation for the state’s airports. The MAA Annual Conference provides high quality programming for all attendees to learn more about current trends in the industry. Our 2026 conference is being held September 30 – October 2 in Biloxi, at Beau Rivage Resort and Casino. Please join us and register at msairportsassociation.com.

Sincerely,

Clay Williams
President
