West Point Plans for Growth

McCharen Field Airport

McCharen Field (M83), West Point’s municipal airport, is pleased to have joined the Mississippi Airports Association. We have exciting changes to report and future plans to share!

A runway and ramp overlay project has been completed, and our city leaders recently made a trip to Washington, DC, to meet with our representatives regarding funds for more planned M83 improvements.

We have freshened our branding with a new logo.

We are planning a fly-in Saturday, October 10. This will build on the success of our 2025 event, which saw people flying in from three other states and had 48 airplanes attend. It was the largest in airport history.

M83 will also soon be gaining another turbo prop tenant, as a local company has purchased a King Air 360.

McCharen Field’s new logo features the city’s signature windmill.
