MDOT REPORT

It was great to see everyone at the MAA Conference! Thank you all who worked hard to make the conference happen. As usual, it was put together very well, and it’s tough to beat the Beau Rivage as a venue.

Recapping the MDOT Update from the conference, the Strategic Multi-Modal Investments program kicked off on October 1, 2026. Applications will be due on November 13, 2026. The FY2027 appropriation is $10 million. The tentative schedule has the awards being announced in early 2027. The FY2027 edition of the “old” multi-modal program saw 29 applications, 11 of which were awarded for a total of $3,845,400. The state matching grants for FAA projects are in the works. If you haven’t received yours yet, it’s on the way. I anticipate getting the next round of grants on a Mississippi Transportation Commission agenda in October. There were 94 state matching grants this year, totaling $2,059,346.
