Airport Improvements Continue at OLV
By David Taylor, Director
Olive Branch Airport – Taylor Field
Several improvement projects have been completed or are currently underway at the Olive Branch Airport. The north hangar apron and taxi lanes were reconstructed and repainted earlier in the year. Phase II of the Alpha taxiway resurfacing project is nearing completion, and two of three new connecting taxiways have been paved. The third taxiway connector will be completed by the end of October. Once the new connecting taxiways have been commissioned, the old taxiways will be demolished – all FAA funded projects.
The addition of an 8,000-gallon Avgas tank will be completed by the end of October, bringing the total of stored Avgas to 20,000 gallons. This, too, is an FAA funded project.
The new corporate hangar that was recently completed has been opened for tenants and is the third corporate hangar for the city.
